You're Too Black To Swim

John Duesler Jr. once went on record of saying "a lot of kids would change the complexion and atmosphere of the club."

A Huntingdon Valley Pennsylvania private club is now denying that they told a group of Hispanic and black campers to not comeback ever again!

But they have taken back their statement and now is just putting it nicely by saying they couldn't accommodate the large volume of camp kids regardless of race. The official website of the club states

"The Valley Club is deeply troubled by the recent allegations of racism which are completely untrue.

We had originally agreed to invite the camps to use our facility, knowing full well that the children from the camps were from multi-ethnic backgrounds. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that we underestimated the capacity of our facilities and realized that we could not accommodate the number of children from these camps. All funds were returned to the camps and we will re-evaluate the issue at a later date to determine whether it can be feasible in the future.

Our Valley Club deplores discrimination in any form, as is evidenced by our multi-ethnic and diverse membership. Whatever comments may or may not have been made by an individual member is an opinion not shared by The Valley Club Board."

But wait...when a seven year old child comes up to you and says "Am I too black to go into the pool?" Something had to instill that in his mind...there was some type of influence somewhere for him to say something like that. Children at that age aren't concerned about r ace like that.

Some spectators say that as the campers made it to the pool area other parents began pulling their children out of the water and standing by the pool with their arms crossed....That obviously meant something!!!

The camp counselor says she didn't hear any direct racist comments but three campers came up to her saying that one white woman asked "what are these black kids doing here"?
