Save On Your Cell Bill!

As many Americans cancel their land line service and mobile phone companies are dominating the industry, many people wonder how they can save a penny or two....especially in these economic times.

Now that mobile phone providers realize they have monopolized the industry they have ventured into new things from Internet to television services. Hell even some are selling net books now.

But there is always a way for you to save some type of money on any bill without having to cut it out completely. Here are some important tips as to how you can do so after the jump

1. Mind how many texts, picture and video messages you send. They are usually about 20 cents per message but if you are sending numerous amounts, then sign up for an unlimited text package.

2. Take advantage of any company promotion you possibly can! If your company is offering new deals that have more minutes or a friends and family, or mobile to mobile.....GET THAT SHIT! Most companies offer the same promo for existing customers if they renew or extend their contracts.

3. Reduce the number of minutes you buy. Find out exactly how many you use each month and find a plan that fits the amount you use accordingly. Try to use as many night/weekend minutes as possible!

4. Get a family plan. All cell phone companies offer them and sure you may have to share daytime minutes but they generally offer free nights and weekends. That will immediately cut down on the flat rate of your plan.....your homegirl talking up a storm causing overage minutes may be another thing.

5. Consider prepaid cell plans. If you aren't one to talk often why have a contract!? Use prepaid so you can pay how much you want and when you feel like it!

6. Don't just settle with the first company you see. All the cell phone companies offer different competitive plans. You should find a plan that fits your budget and your lifestyle.

7. Watch for roaming charges. If you're talking outside of your coverage area you will be charged extra. If you know you do it....then get a nationwide plan FOOL!

8.Refrain from downloading ringtones or subscribing to cell phone applications. I make my own ringtones, because T-Mobile never has the music I like so I have to make it regardless. But that will save you overtime. These subscription services may be free for the first time but they will charge you a fee every month for something you used only once.

9. If you use the Internet, watch out for the charges for the number of pages you visit or the megabytes you use. If you must use the Internet they consider getting a Internet access plan for a flat rate.

10. Don't use your cell phone. There are still a few out there who do not have cell phones. Hell in 2000 not everyone had a cell phone. Better bust out that beeper lolz!!
