Cash For Clunkers Plunging

This $1 Billion program was designed to boost stagnant auto sales and the program is almost out of money. Which means people are buying which is a good thing but the program will end sooner than expected. The kicker about this is the program only started a week ago.

This program gives vouchers up to $4,500 who trade in less fuel efficient vehicles for ones that have amazing mileage. This program was supposed to go on until November 1, 2009 but it is almost over.

Government Officials shut down the program thursday and will be working on revising the program to make it more efficient and last longer. Out of the $1 Billion it started with only $779 million is left.
